this website isn't my first attempt at making a website. i've always thought having a website would be a cool thing to do, and i made many attempts but they always fizzled out. now that this one is real and live, maybe it won't go extinct. while i work on figuring out what to make this website, here's a look at previous attempts with some slight changes like removing my full legal name. this was a small pocket of my adolecence. perhaps I've hidden other website attemps on another harddrive somwhere. if found, i will be sure to update this index.

website ting (c. 2013)

as far as i can tell this is the earliest attempt i can find. it references an earlier attempt c. 2010 of a grade school project that i've both forgotten about and lost to time. i admire my past goals of learning programming langauges. looks like that desire never really left me. its a shame it took another ~15 years for me to find that drive.

mount microphone (c. 2013)

perhaps my most fleshed out attempt. nothing too fancy, but a real attempt at making a fansite for mount errie / the microphones. the links to wikipedia hosted album artwork are broken, but that's a fixable issue. what kinda blows my mind is that its noted that i last modified this file on 3/4/2013, and I'm currently writing this page on 3/4/2026. 13 years later and i'm still on my bullshit.

music review (c.2014)

here we have an attempt at modeling the kind of content I was consuming in high school. i had found the music of MF DOOM a few years prior and desperatly wanted new tracks. i was also reading and watching a lot of music review content and felt that I could add to the conversation - in my own eccho chamber of course. reading this back, I'm kinda proud of my writing here and still agree with my assessment. take a peak a the upcoming reviews. i'm not sure i even listened to half of those albums.

photo site (c. 2014)

as with most projects i've picked up over the years, I couldn't pick up a previous attempt and modify it to my current needs. no, it needed to be fresh and new. here is one such example. i've always had a love for photography and one day hope to make my own website, much like this one, to display it. interestingly i used flickr hosting to share my images. a risky move in case i deleted that old account or lost access to it somehow. i've modified it so that it doesn't link back to that old account. something to note is that the home page was marked modified on december 23rd, 2014. this must have been an attempt at staving off bordom during christmas break.
